3 Things you should be checking before posting your product photos!

Ever get excited when you snap a picture of our products, and it turned out looking beautiful? So you go on your social or your website and click post. But there are always 3 things you might have missed to check. Know this before it harms your brand.

Save this so you can go check back whenever you need to!

1. CAN YOU READ THE LABEL? Yeah, we understand how tricky it is to make a very tiny font size appear readable in most photos. But your audience/customers would like to see your brand name, what your product is called, and maybe what it consists of. Make sure your labels are readable.

If you’re going to photograph a product that will show labels, do it right. Make them sharp. Don’t intentionally blur out labels. Build that trust by showcasing clear and readable labels. Let your brand or product name be known.

2. IS YOUR SURFACE BACKGROUND CLEAN? This is one of the most common neglected parts when photographing products. A messy image can harm the look of your brand. It may look a little unprofessional, plus other questions like how sanitary your products are or how safe they can be may cross your viewer’s mind. Your audience’s first impression of your brand is through the image they see. They perceive the value and quality of your products through it.

Check for unwanted sight on your picture. The surface background of your photographs should be cleaned/dusted off before you take that photo. This will save you from repeating the shot, and you can save time from editing them out after.

3. DOES THE PRODUCT LOOK EXACTLY LIKE IT IS IN PERSON? If you want to practice the truth in advertising, you should always check how real it looks from your picture compared to how it looks in person.  That’s one of many significant mishaps that happens when non-professional photographers take photos of products.

Sometimes one gets excited editing the image and going wild on saturation or making the vibe a little too teal and orange. As a result, the audience/customer who views that picture expects to receive the same item. And when they don’t, you either get a return or two-star review. Do your best to showcase your products in photos the way they look in person. Do not over-edit colors, or warp the shape.

Be mindful of these three things. It affects your product photos and your brand too. Check that image before you click, post. Making this a habit will help you elevate the look of your brand.
